內容簡介Working and setting time of low cement castables are influenced by installation conditions, such as the temperature. Generally, the installation of low cement castables is cons trained by time. The quantitative evaluation of working and setting times is important for development and design of low cement castables. The setting time of low cement castables correlates with the exothermic peak in the fine powder fraction. In addition, an Arrhenius plot of the exothermic reaction time is linear and it is shown~(1)) that the setting process of a low cement castables is a thermally activated reaction. It is known that the hydration reaction of alumina cement does not follow the Arrhenius rule. Furthermore, the effects of cement and additives on the setting reaction of the low cement castables are not clear. In the present paper, the setting mechanism of low cement castables with various dispersing agents and retarders in discussed relative to the exothermic reaction.
